Q: Will karaoke CD+G discs play in my DVD karaoke player?
A: No. Well actually yes, but not correctly. A CD+G disc will generally play the music on a DVD karaoke player, but no words will be displayed. This is because the '+G' part of a CD+G is the graphics layer which only works on dedicated karaoke CD+G players. Some karaoke players are also combination CD+G and DVD karaoke players. These types of players will play both discs but they will be clearly marked on the karaoke player that they can play both formats.

Q: Will karaoke DVD discs play in my CD+G karaoke player?
A: No. karaoke DVD and karaoke CD+G discs are different formats. They will only play in the same karaoke player if it is a combination DVD and CD+G karaoke player. The only discs that will work in a CD+G karaoke player are CD+G discs (also known as CDG, CD G or anything like that).

Q: Will karaoke CD+G discs work in a normal CD player?
A: Yes but not correctly. A CD+G disc will play the music on a normal CD player, but no words will be displayed. This is because the '+G' part of a CD+G is the graphics layer which only works on dedicated karaoke CD+G players.

Q: Will karaoke DVD discs work in a normal DVD player?
A:
Yes. Karaoke DVD discs do not have any special layers or anything that needs a dedicated karaoke DVD player. They will work fine in any DVD player. The problem of course is that there are no microphone inputs or echo and volume controls for the microphones. Karaoke DVD players add that functionality.

Q: What is a CD+G karaoke disc?
A:
A CD+G karaoke disc is a standard compact disc which has an extra layer written onto the disc. That layer is the '+G' part of the disc definition and is the graphics layer. For a CD+G karaoke disc to operate properly, a karaoke CD+G player is required.

Q: What are Zoom, Disney, Easy Karaoke, Sunfly and Interactive Karaoke?
A:
The above names are manufacturers of discs. They are not a particular format of discs. There are many manufacturers of karaoke discs; all of varying quality. We have chosen four of the top manufacturers to work with who have been in the Karaoke business for many years and offer very good sound replication.

Q: What are your delivery times?
A:
We hold the majority of our discs in stock (especially Easy Karaoke and Zoom CD+Gs and all three of our DVD manufacturers) and generally despatch the same day as you order. All our products are sent 1st class Royal Mail for UK (generally 1-2 working days) and Air Mail for Europe post (generally 3-4 working days). It is not uncommon for our customers to place there order in the afternoon of one day, and to receive it in the post the next morning (all dependant upon Royal Mail and that the disc is in stock of course!).

Q: Are your discs performed by the original artists?
A:
No. There are very few karaoke discs being performed by the original artists because of royalties that would have to be paid (there is a few motown discs available by original artists). This is where the quality of the karaoke disc manufacturer comes into play. Easy Karaoke, Sunfly, Zoom and Interactive Karaoke have invested much time and money in ensuring that their tracks are as close to the original as possible.

Q: Do your karaoke CD+G discs have guide vocals?
A:
The vast majority of our CD+G discs do not have guide vocals. The only CD+G discs we sell with guide vocals are currently Easy Karaoke's Pop range volumes 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 72.

Q: How do the Interactive Karaoke DVD discs work?
A:
Interactive karaoke have taken a slightly different approach to karaoke. So as well as being able to turn off the lead vocals on the tracks for karaoke purpose, you can also choose to turn off all vocals, and some of the instruments in turn as well. To select the different options you may need to use the 'audio' button on your DVD remote control, or use the arrow keys and the 'select/enter' key on your DVD player.

Q: Are you able to send me a printed brochure of your discs available?
A:
Unfortunately not. We are generally adding around 5 or 6 new discs each month to our range. This means that the printing of brochures would be a costly and never ending process as they are out of date within a week. There is a good search facility on our site for finding particular tracks and artists, and we are more than welcome to answer any emails you have on particular tracks
